标题:Multiscale periodic analysis of sunspot number data and F10.7 index

摘要:As key indicators of solar activity, sunspot numbers and F10.7 index are highly valued for their long-term sequence records and the stability of their observation methods. The study of their correlation is crucial for understanding solar activity. In this paper, monthly mean data of the F10.7 index and sunspot numbers (both V1.0 and V2.0 data) from October 1, 1957 to December 31, 2024 were selected for multiscale and multi-period analysis by the Iterative Oblique Singular Spectrum Analysis (IOSSA) method. The results showed that sunspot data (both V1.0 and V2.0) exhibit periodic components of 10.66 years, 8.5 years, 5.33 years, 4.49 years, 3.28 years, about 2.6 years, 1.85 years, 1.08 years, and 0.88 years, as well as a long-period component of 21.33 years, with a high degree of similarity in their periodicity. The F10.7 index data reveal long-period component of 21.33 years, as well as periodic components of 10.66 years, 7.76 years, 6.57 years, 5.33 years, 3.56 years, 3.28 years, 2.63 years, 2.19 years, 1.85 years, and 1.08 years, which are in good agreement with the separation results from the sunspot data. Regarding the periodic components, the sunspot data V2.0 show a more pronounced nonlinear relationship with the F10.7 data compared to the V1.0. In the lagged correlation analysis of the F10.7 index with sunspot data (V1.0 and V2.0) for each cycle component, the 8-year, 2.37-year, and 1.85-year components exhibit synchronicity. The remaining components show a lag of 1 to 2 months.
